Indian teenager Neel Date scores first ever half century for Japan’s cricket
Cricket fans in Japan might be already knowing that Japan’s U-19 cricket team is playing it’s very first World Cup in South Africa.
The qualifier rounds were played last year in Japan itself.
Even though the team is learning a lot in its very first time in World Cup, Japan batsman Neel Date scores very first half century for the team giving some moments of glory during this tournament.
The match was between Canada and Japan.
Canada batted first and set a target of 300 at the fall of 7 wickets. Even though Japan’s team was all out on 118, Neel Date scores 59 of 75 balls.
Neel is vice captain of Japan team playing in ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa . He is a opening batsman and a right arm medium pace bowler.
In this tournament, he achieved a double First.
As a bowler, taking first World Cup wicket for Japan against New Zealand.
And scoring first 50 for Japan against Canada.
Apart from Neel, there are four other Indians Young lads too in the team as follows:
Yugandhar Retharekar – off spin bowler
Debashish Sahoo- middle order batsman
Ishan Fartyal – middle order batsman
Tushar Chaturvedi – all rounder
Japan started their journey for making a U-19 team just 3 years back. We should appreciate that this team consisting of a diverse players has already made a history by playing their first U-19 World Cup and we hope this sets an example for other areas of culture and business too where people from diverse nation participate with Japan and together as team bring glory for the country.
