Yoga session conducted – Retd. Superintendent of Police/Father from Bangalore spreading his Yoga expertise in Japan

Parents visiting from Japan for short period can become a boon when they start sharing their life`s experiences and expertise during their stay here.

Meet Mr. Devaraddi

Such is one parent, Mr. Devaraddi N, (age 71)  a Superintendent of Police, retired in 2006, based in Bangalore, Karnataka. He has served his whole life in Karnataka Police and is visiting his one of his sons in Japan. He is a man of less words with smiling face.

From a Party to Yoga:

A group in Seishincho happen to met with Devaraddi ji, a couple of weeks back in a common party where they came to know about his professional experience along with his expertise in Yoga. He also shared that, in the past, when he visited his other son in Chicago, he used to take daily Yoga classes voluntarily for the Indian/American community there. He also showed openness on sharing his yoga routine with members in Japan too.

How Session came about

The group quickly took this as a good opportunity and swiftly arranged a place for a Yoga class in Seishincho area (3-2, behind Maruetsu, 9-10 am so that convenient for all) even though he is here in Japan till 8th December only. The aim is to have him to perform yoga routine in front of them, guide them with where the students might be going wrong and by learning the routine, it can be followed later too. They plan to meet again during the weekends for sure (at least 2-4 sessions are in works). If interested, please get in touch with Aarati (+81 70-1302-1707) for the same. We were fortunate to be invited to witness this experience and would highly recommend it.

About the Yoga session experience:

The Yoga sessions start slowly with light Chanting and then goes towards warming up your body from head to toe before getting into asanas. With a calm music in the background, the body is slowly taken into asanas which challenges your stiff muscles and takes you to the peak of stretching. After the peak, it slowly descends to more relaxing asanas and closing it again with the chanting of Om. One definitely sweats at the end of it leaving the whole mind and body relaxed. Following are some snaps taken during the session.

The group was unable to take pictures of core asanas since they were part of it, but hope you get the idea about the ambiance.
