Procedure Summary:
A. All applicants must need to fill an online passport application form (visit link https://passport.gov.in/nri/)
B. After online submission take print and submit (by post or in person) along-with mentioned documents including personal particular form. Both submission and collection can be done by post (https://www.indembassy-tokyo.gov.in/additionalcharges.html)
C. No appointment required. You can visit Embassy’s consular section during mentioned office hours for submission. It’s a smooth process generally takes 3-4 weeks of time from date of receipt of application.
D. Once the passport is ready and you receive an intimation from Embassy, you are required to collect it in person again. If you want it by post, while applying you need to send a self addressed envelope with mentioned amount postal stamps.
