What sports are Indians Playing in and around Tokyo : Badminton

It`s a sport boom right now in and around Tokyo, where many Indians are involved in various kinds of sports. Get in touch with them and keep your physical and mental health in shape !

There are many clubs in and around Tokyo area formed by group of friends either by the place they come from India, or friends living near their places in Japan or have some kind of contact due to their professional backgrounds. Let`s try to touch upon some sports and respective clubs, who are comparatively active and make efforts to reach to the community. 

We will be introducing one game after another in coming period.
Here is the first part :

Badminton :
SAS Club: (Sarveswara Arts & Sports Club)

  • This is one of the active groups who play and organize leagues related to Badminton (+other sports too) around Funabori area and are also active in fund raising when it comes to support of countrymen in case of any catastrophe like one happened recently in Kerala.
  • The club defines themselves as “SAS is a sports club formed by Nihonkairali’ – the one and only organization for Keralites in Japan.”

Apart from above group, there are other groups too who play Badminton on regular weekly basis. It`s worth mentioning some very great players for example Biswajeet Rout who  won the championship at Koto, Tokyo Badminton Championship – Koto Ku Kumin Taiku Taikai
