JAL unveils ‘ZIPAIR Tokyo’ budget carrier
Main Points:
- Japan Airlines is adding a new low-cost carrier to its corporate lineup. It’s called “ZIPAIR Tokyo,” and it will focus on medium to long-haul flights.
- JAL says it filed an application for a business license with the Transport Ministry on Friday. The LCC will start recruiting staff next month
- JAL prepares to offer services from Narita airport to Bangkok and Seoul in summer 2020.
- It is also considering routes to the US and Europe as early as the summer of 2021.
- Core of the service would be “reliable, high-quality service at reasonable prices”
