Getting Credit Report in Japan – FAQ
Credit report in Japan
Ques: Hi, I am working for a Japanese company in Tokyo and I have a question.
Trying to avail for NRI home loan from SBI, HDFC or any other bank in India requires me to submit an “Overseas tax documents and credit report with score” and I am not sure how can I procure it in Japan.
If anybody has any insight on this or prior experience of taking NRI home loan please let me know!
Any help is super appreciated.

There are some credit rating companies in Japan which on request provide your credit score.
CIC (https://www.cic.co.jp/en/outline.html) is one of them. You can visit their Shinjuku office and based on your name and telephone numbers they will provide your report.
All banks and credit card companies share your details with such companies. So you will get a consolidated score based in your deposits and lending in Japan.
