State of Emergency – Precondition & Impact

Government is working in clear situations and plan of action for coming days in Japan related to coronavirus. Special Task force is working on this. It will clarify what will happen in case of state of emergency in more details like Will the trains be closed or shops will be opened or not etc.

This plan of action would be mapped with two precondition for state of emergency which are as follows:

1. A “grave danger” to lives and health of citizens &

2. if its rapid spread threatens serious economic damage.

What can this declaration of state of emergency do ?A state of emergency would allow governors in hard-hit regions to take steps such as asking people to stay home, closing schools and other public facilities and cancelling large events.

People are preparing for weekend self-lockdown, anticipating bigger lockdown or state of emergency.There are also talks of what should be the period of this lockdown where more views are point to a period of 21 days here in Japan too.

Government is concerned about this Second wave of spread which is bigger than the first due to incoming tourist and residents coming back from Europe & US.

Right now, as we publish this, it’s not a state of emergency yet. Few bigger shopping market/few theaters are closing on coming weekend. However all necessary services like supermarket, groceries, pharmacies will remain open.
