Phases from Covid19 Lockdown to GoingOut ! – Kubler Ross Curve

Based on Kubler Ross Curve, it’s interesting to see in which phases major countries are and how our behavior changes during each phase.

Depending on the situation of current Covid19 condition in respective countries, most of them are now between step 3 to beyond 5 in the chart below.

■How are we doing in different countries
– Countries like Vietnam, Taiwan & Newzealand are on 5 already. Mostly reported no new cases recently
– Japan is somewhere between 4 and 5, nearer to 5. Reporting cases in 2 digits revelry in cities like Tokyo.
– In india, due to sudden spike again, we are somewhere between 4 and 5 too nearer to 4.

■Phases and their short meanings:
1. Shock & Denial phase – Is this really happening ? It can’t happen to us. This happened when Covid19 was reported in China and other countries thought they are away from it.

2. Anger – Once it hits, we become angry and oh shit, this is happening for real. When Covid19 hit the other parts of world too, no one could accept it and became bit angry on what’s happening around.

3. Bargaining – Then we try to fight with it, we do whatever it takes to handle the situation. Then when almost everyone country saw it happening in their own turf, everyone fought back with brevity and tried to implement things the way they did.

4. Depression – We become depressed also due to loss or impact we see and it kinds of takes us down. There were big impact when it came to lockdowns, disruptions, hurdles in people’s plan fro 2020 and also huge loss of lives in certain countries which made the mood depressed. And also a feeling of “now it’s enough”

5. Acceptance – Then we understand the real nature of it, think beyond what’s on surface, try to see how it should be handled and start to accept the new reality and takes steps accordingly. Most of the countries have started to realize that we need to live with this and find out ways how we can still open up by containing this covid19.
